Health Care Access and Quality

Overview

Health Care Access & Quality

At Moses Taylor Foundation, we are dedicated to achieving our goal of ensuring that all individuals in Northeastern Pennsylvania have equitable access to high-quality health care services. We use a whole-person approach to improve the health of individuals, with our support extending to primary care, oral health, and mental health services. We invest in organizations that share our commitment to enhancing service delivery, strengthening the care continuum, removing barriers to care, and integrating services, among other approaches. We acknowledge the urgent need for creative and innovative solutions, particularly in the area of mental health services, which has reached a crisis level in the region.

We also recognize that a key to providing access to high-quality health services is the availability of a skilled and committed workforce. Therefore, the Foundation supports organizations that are training and educating the next generation of providers at all levels within the health care system.

Finally, we acknowledge that health care access and outcomes are often inextricably linked to non-medical drivers of health, such as food, housing, safety, and transportation. While the Foundation does not have a primary focus on non-medical drivers, we know that progress on these community issues is critical to a healthy population. As such, we are supportive of these drivers as components of projects that are rooted in health care.
